Global Credit Investments (GCI) is a specialist fixed-income and credit investment manager with a bias toward investing in short-duration credit. We believe Australian investors should increase the allocation of uncorrelated credit investments in their portfolio to counter-balance the typically overweight allocations investors have to equities and real estate. Short-duration credit assets can produce better returns than cash with lower volatility than other investment alternatives.
We have a strong focus on preservation of investor capital with particular focus on downside risk. Our team have substantial personal capital invested in our funds.
Ongoing increases in bank regulation, improvements in technology and availability of credit data, as well as a range of market forces are changing the lending landscape and opening new markets for non-bank investors.
GCI partners with non-bank lenders (such as specialty finance companies and technology-enabled originators) and provides structured funding facilities that enables our lending partners to grow, while simultaneously generating attractive and stable returns for our investors. We seek originators with a strong track record, the ability to provide rich data and the systems and processes to allow us to monitor the performance of the underlying credit we acquire.
The type of credit assets originated by non-bank lenders and financed by GCI includes consumer point of sale finance, consumer installment loans, equipment leases, invoice finance, small business loans and short-term mortgages.
